PREMISE
You come to consciousness in a dark, damp room, where everything is reflecting a very odd purple glow. It smells strongly of dust and mildew, like this place hasn't been used for anything in years. But that's clearly not the case, now, is it? After all, you're here. And so are a lot of other people, once you take a look around.
Robed women circle you, their faces hidden by their low-hanging hoods but their breasts exposed by the cut of their white drapery. In their left hands, they hold open spellbooks. With their right hands, they conjure the colorful spell that's illuminating the room. It's impossible to distinguish one woman from another at a glance (no, not even through cup size).
Then, all at once, they come to a sharp stop, the glow fading to leave only the dim light from the mounted torches to see by. Before you, the two women part to make way for another. She's dressed similarly to the others, though she wears a rich burgundy instead of white. Above her hands hovers what is most certainly a contract, made obvious by the line at the bottom where a name is to be signed.
She explains, though she's as obtuse as the hood covering her face. Though the curiosity is overwhelming, it's as if your tongue has been glued to the roof of your mouth, and there's no room to get a word in edgewise.
"You have been cordially invited by the Mistress to participate in an exclusive program for the tutelage of sorcery. We encourage you to explore the premises so you may make an informed decision about the opportunities that have been so graciously opened to you."
And then, as you're being escorted to the door, the ultimatum.
"You have twenty-four hours. Please choose wisely."
With that, you're booted out of the dank little dungeon into the rich, warm light of the castle proper. The door you've just come out of and all of the sorceresses have vanished without a trace.
What else can you do but explore, then?
Apprentice Wanted is a panfandom game set in the world of the NSFW webcomic Oglaf. Like the source material, the game is neither entirely fantasy nor entirely smutty. Sex is not required, though it is a prevalent part of the setting. You're free to play out as much or as little smut as you want!
Your character has been brought into this world by the Mistress, a powerful sorceress who is searching for a worthy few apprentices totorment gracefully share her secrets with. They will be given a contract filled with all the glorious pros of signing on as an apprentice, as well as a smaller, briefer section explaining that those who sign will be giving up their freedom entirely. Mistress isn't the kindest woman around, and while she will uphold her end of the bargain to teach her apprentices magic, she is just as likely to dole out punishment for any wrongdoing -- perceived or not. You may get a passionate whipping, or you may be banned from masturbating, depending on how generous she feels. But what's a little freedom when you get to live in such a lavish castle?
Characters have 24 hours to wander around the castle and the surrounding village in order to make their decision. If they decide to sign on as an apprentice, they will be branded and assigned a room. If not, they will be given their personal belongings and escorted out, told to make their own way in the world. Bear in mind, living in the castle is the only way to learn magic... Or so Mistress says.
The world of Oglaf has no name as a whole, but it is filled with kingdoms, villages, and countries that all have their unique characteristics. It's high fantasy with a sexual overtone, and events will likewise be both sexual and magical in nature. Magical creatures, from centaurs to fairies to talking animals, are common in the world, and magic shapes many ordinary people's day-to-day lives. For detailed information, visit the setting page.
The plot is a mixture of character and setting-driven. Small monthly events will give plenty of opportunity for plots relating around personal CR, and plot arcs that run for several months at a time will give players the ability to interact with the setting in a way that influences the world around them. Because there's no single, overarching objective to complete, decisions made by the characters will play a big part in shaping the overall game experience. Rather than being steered in one direction or limited by all-powerful influences, players will be able to make a change in the way that the world around their characters works. Just bear in mind that things won't always turn out the way you think they will.
